Balasaheb Thackeray Birth Anniversary: Five Reasons Why You Cannot Miss Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Thackeray
Bal Keshav Thackeray also known as Balasaheb Thackeray was born on this day. Today, marks his 93rd birth anniversary, so on this very special day, we bring to the fore, five reasons why you should not miss out on his biopic Thackeray that releases this Friday.

The Man himself:

He has been a strong and robust leader who at times had opinions which differed from the rest. It was often felt that his intent was all correct but his method of execution at times was wrong. More often than not, Balasaheb was always in the news. The unfortunate day when he passed away (17th of November, 2012), a bandh was observed all over Maharashtra.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Thackeray:

One of the most solid reasons to catch a screening of Thackeray has to be the fact that powerhouse performer Nawazuddin Siddiqui steps in to essay his story on celluloid. The teaser and trailer have already created a huge buzz, thanks to Siddiqui’s finesse in bringing to life, Bal Thackeray’s story. So, if you’re excited to see how well he enacts the compelling story of Thackeray, then don’t give this a miss.

Amrita Rao’s comeback as Mina Thackeray:
amrita rao

Amrita Rao started off on a promising note with the college romance flick Ishq Vishk opposite Shahid Kapoor. Post that, she was seen in movies like Main Hoon Na, Masti, Deewar and Vivah, to name a few. But, she soon faded into oblivion and was nowhere to be seen. Now, she is all set to make a comeback in the powerful role of Mina Tai, wife of Bal Thackeray. Nawaz as Thackeray and Amrita as Mina Tai will make for an interesting combination.

Great timing of release:

The Lok Sabha elections are round the corner and we think the movie makers couldn’t have come up with a better release date than this one (January 25th). Also, the fact that it releases two days exactly after Bal Thackeray’s birthday, is an add-on.

Season of strong biopics:

Bollywood is thriving on biopics quite a lot of late and the makers of Thackeray are cashing in on this trend heavily. Creating a biopic on the life of a leader, who ruled the hearts of a millions of common people, this one definitely deserves a watch.
